The Choice is Clear: Change or More of the Same (Bush)

Comments

Well, it's a no brainer, isn't it. Even the conservative bloggers on here are resigned to the inevitable. Which makes me smile even more. I think it's going to be a landslide. I can't wait. And I don't even live in the U.S.
[this is good]
Snowy, I hope it is a landslide to help bring in a real majority of Democrats in the Senate. However, I know that Karl Rove and his confederates are working hard to create a different result.

A the latest Newsweek poll, it shows Obama with only a 3 point lead. If Obama were a white man, these numbers would be higher. Racism is that elephant in the middle of the room and it will play a part of the election.

Hmmm..... Obama likes the price of gas. Most of the uber left wing thinks it SHOULD be five dollars a gallon. So why should we listen to Obama?

Obama is just like EVERY other political candidate. He is no better. Just saying "change" over and over again means absolutely nothing when he continues to show how very much the same he is.

LOL, Obama's latest "snafu" - allowing a comedian, bernie Mac, who is known for his sexist jokes to open for him. Then again, what does this "sweetie" expect from a chavenist?

Obama is just another member of the patriarchy.

If I thought anything you wrote had any merit, I would reply. I'm surprised you didn't call him a Muslim as well.

Obama is taking the claims of McCain's experience and using them against him. Yes, he's been in Washington a long time, but that in itself means that he's part of the system that has gotten us where we are today, and that's a place that most Americans aren't happy with. Couple that with McCain's top economic advisor saying that the problems are all in our heads, and it looks like McCain's campaign is just imploding. It's still a few months till D-day, and anything can happen, but it's not looking good for the Reds.

Hmmm...Why would I call him a Muslim when he is not? I think its funny that Obama thinks that being called a Muslim is "scurrelous". He acts like he was called a pedophile child rapist. Hell, I am more than willing to correct people the crap mailed to them in their email about Obama - 99.9999% of it is untrue. I am talking about things that the man has done.

What in my post is a lie? He DID say he approved of the higher gas prices. He did soften that with, "“I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing.” So he likes the high prices but wishess they happened a little slower.

He DID dismiss a female reporter here in Detroit with "Sweetie" when she asked a question about what he would be doing for American autoworkers. Yes, he apologized, so what. Like I tell my child - apologies are empty words that are meaningless unless you change your actions. He was just as dismissive the second time he was here in the "D".

Oh and he DID have Bernie MAc open for him. Obama KNEW his show was full of chauvenist jokes. Obama said the following, "We can't afford to be divided by region or by class or we can't afford to be divided by gender and that means, by the way, Bernie you got to clean up your act. This is a family affair.... I'm just messing with you man." In my world, when you "chastise" someone for saying something inappropriate - you don't add "I'm just messing with you."

Paxton, I have had more people at work tell me they support Obama. Now I work in one of the reddest areas of a red state. There isn't a single McCain sticker on any car in our parking lot. There used to be lots of W's. They got scrapped off a couple of years ago.
I don't know about Obama's energy statement or the context, but I do know he supports an energy policy to get us on the road to end our oil addiction. Of course, McCain's buddy Phil Gramm would just call that whining. Gramm was also responsible for the virtual deregulation of the banking industry which has led to many of the current banking problems. Gramm and McCain may have had to split over Gramm's remarks, but they are longtime buddies. He'll be back.

McCain's plan to drill more oil offshore ignores the fact that 65% of the known reserves in the gulf (where drilling is permitted) are untapped. It's just political fodder and continues to feed our oil addiction when we need to invest in renewable resources. The fact that Bush is pushing the same thing tells me McCain is mostly 4 more years of Bush. Vote for McCain if you want. He's a divorced man. He opposes legal abortion and can't even remember how he voted on public funds for birth control pills (he opposes), but men can get Viagra.

As for the patriarchy, taking one "sweetie" remark as a reason to think Obama is sexist is a stretch. I probably have said that before myself without thinking about it. Is this just anger over Hillary losing?

I'll take what you said on Bernie Mac. Never seen him perform, so I have no idea.

They didn't split. McCain denounced the statements Gramm made about America being a country of whiners, but he didn't fire him, to my knowledge.

[this is good]
If he wasn't fired, that impression was given by his campaign on the Sunday talk shows.
Obama wasn't my first choice for a nominee -- I was an Edwards man -- but I will gladly vote for him in November. Really, there's no other choice as I'm damned sure not going to vote for McSame.
[this is good]
No more years for the party of Bush. I've volunteered to sign up new voters too. I want to win this one.

I was leaning to Edwards, but it was down to Hillary and Obama when I had to vote on Super Tuesday. My absentee ballot sat on my desk for over a week before I finally decided on Obama. I liked Hillary's health care plan the best, but I like Obama on the war. That was the trump card at the time.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Hillary is going to be his VP choice. I may be wrong, but I've got a feeling about it.
[this is good]
I certainly hope she is his VP choice. In fact, as soon as Hillary conceded, I wrote Obama to ask that he select her. I think he needs her to win, and if he doesn't win, what difference does his choice make then.

I don't know why she would refuse. It would still be a history-making move for her and put her next in line. I admire Hillary a lot. She stood by Bill during thick and thin and I think they still love each other. Otherwise, I don't think Bill would have been so out there with his campaign remarks.
Hillary has stated on several occasions that she'd be willing to take the VP spot.
